Master Stuart Emery

Master Emery began his martial arts journey in 1984

He trainied in Taekwondo under Grand Master Lee, Young Il in Baltimore, MD

Known for its powerful kicks and dynamic techniques, Taekwondo emphasizes speed and agility. Master Emery was promoted to 1st dan in Taekwondo by Grand Master Lee in 1988.

In 1994, Master Emery expanded his expertise to include Hapkido, a Korean martial art known for its joint locks, throws, and kicks, under the American Hapkido Association.

By 1997, he earned his 1st dan in Hapkido. In 1998, he began studying Jung Ki Hapkido, a specialized form of Hapkido that focuses on traditional techniques and philosophy.

Mastering Hapkido and Kuhapdo Techniques

Currently, Master Emery holds a 7th dan in Hapkido under the World Jung Ki Hapkido Association and a 5th dan in Kuhapdo under the World Chung Suk Kuhapdo Association.

Kuhapdo, or Korean Swordsmanship, emphasizes precision, discipline, and the art of the sword. Master Emery is a direct student of Grand Master Lim, Hyun Soo, a 9th dan in Hapkido, who was promoted by Hapkido's founder, Choi, Yong Sool.

Master Emery's dedication to continuous learning is exemplified by his annual trips to South Korea to study Hapkido and Kuhapdo under Grand Master Lim.
